Job Description
We are seeking an Engineering Intern to join our manufacturing facility and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced production environment. This internship offers the opportunity to learn how an injection molding manufacturing plant operates while contributing to meaningful projects that support safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. The intern may be assigned to different functional areas based on business needs, interests, and background, such as Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, or Production . In each area, the intern will work closely with experienced team members to build technical knowledge, develop problem-solving skills, and gain exposure to manufacturing processes and operations.
What You Will Do:
Depending on the assigned function, you may: Support day-to-day activities in your assigned department or plant area Assist with data collection, reporting, and analysis to support operational improvements Participate in troubleshooting, testing, or observation of equipment, processes, or products Help document procedures, update records, or maintain technical files Support quality inspections, audits, or corrective action activities Assist with preventive maintenance tasks, equipment checks, or reliability projects Contribute to engineering or process improvement initiatives Work on special projects related to safety, efficiency, cost reduction, or productivity Collaborate with team members across departments to learn plant operations Present findings, recommendations, or project updates as needed What You Need to Be Successful Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Quality, or a related discipline Strong interest in manufacturing operations and willingness to learn Good problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with others Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office or similar tools Ability to follow safety procedures and work in a plant environment Flexibility to work in different functional areas based on business needs Self-motivated, dependable, and eager to take initiative Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities ConMet is… A Solutions Provider We've been driving the commercial vehicle industry forward with transformative solutions since 1964.
