Full Job Description The Opportunity:

Smurfit WestRock is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Advanced Manufacturing Technicians (AMT) through the FAME program. This role is designed for individuals who want to build a strong technical foundation and develop into global-best, entry-level technicians. As an AMT, you will gain hands-on experience in industrial maintenance and manufacturing, including assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and process improvement. A typical day involves working with automated, servo-mechanical, and electromechanical systems, performing preventive maintenance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence. This program prepares you for a career in advanced manufacturing with opportunities to grow into roles such as engineering technician, process improvement specialist, or industrial maintenance technician.

How You Will Impact Smurfit WestRock:

Perform planned maintenance and troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, and fluid power systems. Support process improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency. Collaborate with team members to ensure safe and effective operations across manufacturing lines. Apply technical knowledge to diagnose and resolve equipment issues promptly. Contribute to continuous improvement projects that drive operational excellence. What You Need to

Succeed:

Required Qualifications:

Enrollment or completion of the

FAME AMT

program or equivalent technical training. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods. Strong communication skills for documenting processes and collaborating with teams. Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and fluid power systems. Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and variable lighting conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with automated systems and prototype testing. Familiarity with systems analysis and maintenance procedures. Industry certifications such as PMMI Mechatronics or similar.
