This is the first level (1 of 2) of the RRE Work Management classification hierarchy. A WMS supports the work management process by performing critical activities such as developing schedules and plans that facilitate barrier free work execution, supporting daily/weekly operation/maintenance activities, providing the necessary supply of resources for the station(s), and facilitating process improvements to make work plans safer, more productive and cost competitive. They perform core work management activities such as developing weekly schedules, creating job plans, determining proper GL accounting for work orders, perform inventory searches and set minimum inventory levels, research parts utilizing drawings/manuals, complete new item requests and stock justifications, create purchase requests, manage equipment repair process, and complete single/sole source justification requests. The WMS also coordinates/communicates during the preparation and execution phase of work, monitors/tracks progress of activities, prepares reports, and ensures lessons learned are captured, evaluated and incorporated in support of continuous improvement. May also be responsible for directing, coordinating, and reviewing activities of internal staff or contractors to ensure safe, accurate, and timely completion of tasks, projects, or duties. This is accomplished with minimal supervision. In time, incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and work with greater independence. Typically, the RRE Work Management Specialist level of the Work Management hierarchy handles a single function from the following list for one site:

The Maintenance Coordination function, even as a single function for a single site should typically be posted at the RRE Maintenance Coordinator level. When posting a role any functions the position will not be responsible for should be deleted. Maintenance Coordination - ensures work priorities are established and adhered to for Maintenance functions and activities. Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with the work management procedures and the maintenance protocols. Monitors the overall station Maintenance and advises the Superintendent accordingly. Provides Maintenance focus to ensure station availability, reliability and safety. Contract Resource Coordination - Provides leadership (coordination, direction, quality assurance, etc.) for work activities performed by supplemental and variable contract resources. This includes providing field oversight and job coordination for supplemental resources while at the facility. Responsible for clearing barriers and addressing barriers in the workplace for activities performed by supplemental resources. Responsible for committing to the work plans, executing the plans and schedules, safety, productivity and quality. Planning - Responsible for developing plans that facilitate work execution. Expected to develop plans that are barrier free, including verifying that materials and resources are available to execute work plans. Facilitate process improvements to make work plans more productive and cost competitive, communicate regularly with the Supervisors and Equipment Experts/Owners to ensure job plans are up to date and improved and that work is being planned according to the appropriate priorities Scheduling - responsible for development of resource-loaded schedules that maintain a high level of resource productivity. Leads daily and weekly work status meetings and develops the next day's/ week's schedule. Accelerates work when ahead of schedule and reassesses work that is behind schedule. Maintains the skill matrix and ensures proper skills are assigned to the work. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Basic/Required Qualifications Associate's degree and 3 years of related experience In Lieu of Degree and 3 years of experience, HS Diploma / GED and 7 years of related experience Specific Requirements Must have the ability to be respirator qualified Basic knowledge of power plant operation and the Work Management process Working knowledge of company computer systems/programs that are utilized in the Work Management process Basic scheduling tool knowledge Demonstrated effective time management skills Demonstrated effective skills in problem solving Ability to effectively perform independently with minimal direction Interpersonal skills to effectively work with all station groups Basic ability to lead effective/efficient meetings Good written and oral communication skills Additional Preferred Qualifications Experience and demonstrated computer skills including the ability to use various applications such as Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project), work management system (Maximo), Plant Information (PI) program Experience and demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present information, facilitate meetings and provide direction to others Working knowledge of overall operating fundamentals and principles of generating station systems, equipment and processes Demonstrated ability to work independently in a leadership capacity Demonstrated ability and previous experience in understanding, interpreting, communicating and analyzing financial data At least 5 years of plant operations, maintenance, and/or work management experience Proficient interpreting and understanding equipment/component diagrams, drawings, and schematics Financial and accounting knowledge and skills including ability to analyze data 2 years of experience in contract management 2 years of experience in project management Proficient in Maximo or computer-based Maintenance Management Systems Must be able to read, comprehend, inspect, calculate, count, retain and make sound decisions Working Conditions Onsite Mobility - Performs work in a power plant and an office environment Required to observe work in all areas of generating facilities which are power plant, industrial environments operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, which includes exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust and humidity May be required to climb ladders and stairs at various heights; enter vessels or equipment with limited access; walk, stoop, bend or squat Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, use and reach with hands, arms and fingers There is potential exposure to high stress situations and requirement to be available for emergency response as required by the needs of service Travel Requirements 5-15% Relocation Assistance Provided (as applicable) No Represented/Union Position No Visa Sponsored Position No Please note that in order to be considered for this position, you must possess all of the basic/required qualifications.
