Job Summary The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of kiosk manufacturing and deployment operations, including system integration, logistics, and field readiness. This role ensures that kiosks (including payment, cash-handling, and outdoor units) are produced, tested, and delivered on time, within budget, and to strict quality standards. This position acts as the central hub between engineering, production, supply chain, vendors, and field operations—ensuring seamless execution from design through installation. Core Responsibilities 1. End-to-End Production Oversight (Kiosk-Focused) Oversee and provide guidance throughout the process of manufacturing kiosks across all departments. Ensure production aligns with customer specifications (custom builds, casino/retail deployments, etc.) Manage short-run, high-mix manufacturing environments (custom kiosk builds vs. mass production) Track WIP across assembly, staging, and shipment 2. Supply Chain, Vendor & Component Management Manage sourcing and procurement of key components: Payment hardware (card readers, bill acceptors) Networking devices (routers/modems) Displays, PCs, and peripherals Fabrication materials (steel, coatings, etc.) Coordinate with domestic and overseas vendors (lead times, cost, shortages) Mitigate supply chain risks (e.g., long lead items, obsolescence, substitutions) Maintain inventory and strategy for: Finished kiosks Subassemblies Spare/replacement parts 3. Production Planning & Scheduling Build and maintain production schedules balancing: Custom project deadlines Standard product builds Service/refurbishment work Align manufacturing output with sales pipeline and project timelines Resolve bottlenecks (fabrication constraints, component shortages, labor issues) 4. Field Deployment & Logistics Coordination Coordinate readiness for field deployments, including: System configuration and staging Packaging and shipping (LTL/FTL coordination) Installation scheduling with field teams or partners Ensure kiosks are fully tested before shipment (plug-and-play readiness) Support national rollouts (retail, gaming/casino, municipal, etc.) 5. Quality Assurance & Compliance Implement and enforce quality control standards for: Mechanical build quality Payment system functionality Network connectivity and uptime readiness Ensure compliance with: Payment systems (PCI-related awareness) Electrical and safety standards Reduce field failures, returns, and rework 6. Cost Control & Margin Management Manage manufacturing costs per unit: Labor efficiency Material cost Freight/logistics Identify cost-saving opportunities (design changes, vendor sourcing, batch optimization) 7. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Execution Lead production, warehouse, procurement, technical services and operations personnel Coordinate with: Engineering (design and revisions) Sales / project management (customer timelines) Service teams (repairs, replacements) Establish accountability through KPIs and performance tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) On-time production and delivery (OTD) First-pass yield / defect rates Field failure / return rates Manufacturing cost per kiosk Production cycle time Inventory turns and stockouts Deployment readiness accuracy (zero rework installs) Required Qualifications 5-10+ years in manufacturing or operations leadership Proven experience in: High-mix / custom manufacturing Supply chain/vendor management Production scheduling and cost control Strong understanding of: Mechanical + electrical system integration Inventory and ERP systems Preferred Experience Experience in kiosk, electronics, or integrated systems manufacturing strongly preferred Payment system hardware (cash-to-card, bill validators, EMV devices) Outdoor kiosk builds (weatherproofing, thermal, durability requirements) Retail, gaming, or municipal kiosk deployments Experience supporting: Field service teams National rollout projects Core Competencies Operational leadership and execution Problem-solving under supply or production constraints Vendor negotiation and cost management Process improvement Detail orientation (critical due to custom builds and deployment risk) Why This Role Matters (In Your Environment) Operations Manager is not just a production manager—they are: The bridge between custom engineering and real-world deployment The owner of delivery reliability , especially for high-visibility installs (casinos, retail chains) The control point for cost, vendor risk, and quality issues Without strong operational leadership, delays, field failures, or component shortages can directly impact customer relationships and revenue.
