Job Description
CiboVita is seeking a motivated and hands-on Engineering Mechanic Intern to support our manufacturing and maintenance teams. This internship provides practical experience in food manufacturing operations, preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field and is eager to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced production environment. Responsibilities Assist with preventive maintenance activities on manufacturing and packaging equipment. Support troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Help monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for process improvement. Participate in root cause analysis of equipment failures and downtime events. Assist with equipment inspections and maintenance documentation. Support engineering projects related to efficiency, reliability, and production capacity improvements. Work with production and maintenance teams to ensure safe and efficient operations. Assist in updating maintenance procedures, equipment records, and standard operating procedures. Follow all food safety, quality, and workplace safety requirements. Qualifications Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field. Basic understanding of mechanical systems, motors, conveyors, bearings, pumps, and manufacturing equipment. Ability to read technical drawings and equipment manuals. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and perform hands-on mechanical tasks. Preferred Qualifications Previous internship, technical school, or maintenance experience. Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs. Experience using hand tools and measuring instruments. Knowledge of food manufacturing equipment and production processes.
