In this hands-on role, you will work closely with Process Engineers and production personnel to ensure manufacturing equipment operates safely, efficiently, and at peak performance. You will play a key role in troubleshooting equipment issues, performing preventive maintenance, supporting new product introductions, and driving continuous process improvements. Key Responsibilities Support Process Engineers in monitoring, maintaining, and improving daily manufacturing processes, with a focus on Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Through hole electronic assembly operations. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and basic programming issues on production equipment to minimize downtime. Perform preventive maintenance (PM), equipment calibration, and routine inspections to ensure optimal machine performance and product quality. Collect, analyze, and document production data, including equipment performance, defect rates, yields, and downtime metrics. Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by preparing equipment, assisting with prototype builds, conducting trial runs, and documenting results. Work closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and product quality. Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Qualifications Education Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Experience 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Experience in electronics manufacturing, SMT, PCB assembly, or EMS manufacturing is strongly preferred. Technical Skills Working knowledge of SMT production equipment and manufacturing processes is preferred. Proficient in using hand tools, multimeters, calipers, and other diagnostic or measurement equipment. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, technical manuals, and process documentation. Basic understanding of manufacturing performance metrics, including yield, throughput, downtime, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications; experience with ERP or MES systems is a plus. Skills & Competencies Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. Ability to identify problems, determine root causes, and implement practical solutions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk on the production floor for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally. Ability to work around manufacturing equipment while following all required safety procedures.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
