Reimagine What's Possible Air Products is currently seeking an Operations Technician to join its Ocotillo, AZ manufacturing site, which includes two large‑scale Air Separation Units (ASUs), an Oil‑Free Air (OFA) system, and a Hydrogen Electrolyzer. The Operator is responsible for the safe, day‑to‑day operation of all onsite equipment while adhering to Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality Standards. The role requires completion of required training and successful participation in scheduled validation reviews to ensure consistent delivery of high‑quality products to customers. Maintain electronic logbooks and complete routine inspections, log sheet readings, and water treatment tasks. Troubleshoot process upsets using indicators and DCS trends. Calibrate and operate process and pipeline analyzers. Perform preventive maintenance and minor equipment adjustments; submit maintenance requests as needed. Issue safety work permits and perform lockout/tagout activities. Support liquid bulk delivery systems and storage tank operations. Inspect work areas for mechanical issues, safety hazards, and abnormal operating conditions. Keep work and supply areas in a safe, clean and orderly condition. Ensure compliance with all plant safety procedures and participate in monthly safety meetings. Maintain required online training and assist with reviewing and updating operating procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Previous work and/or military experience Electrical, instrumentation, or mechanical maintenance experience preferred Ability to read and understand piping and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs) preferred Experience with personal computers and/or DCS systems Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to work effectively in a team environment Willingness to work 12‑hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and a mandatory on‑call rotation This is a safety-sensitive position Physical Requirements Must be able to climb ladders and steps and lift 50 lbs. Be available during mandatory call-in requirements as scheduled. Elevated work required. Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
