ROCC Operator Supervisor:

Position Responsibilities:
Complete new hire training for Jr. ROCC Operator qualification. Continuously monitor and maintain reliable and efficient operation of solar (and wind) facilities to ensure compliance with safe operations, electrical system procedures, power sales requirements, contractual and regulatory obligations, and company objectives. Take calls, log events and create AFRM tickets. Update logs as needed. Review acknowledged, active alarms and provide AFRM updates. Monitor Indji-Watch for upcoming storm events. Lunch coverage (based on ROCC Operator sign off sheet qualifications). Work through ROCC Operator sign off sheet with on duty operator. Ensure solar (and wind) facilities are dispatched to meet planned schedules and regulatory dispatches. Quickly respond to changing conditions to maximize availability, generation, and power sales by operating facilities within all applicable permits and ISO/RTO operations protocols. Visually monitor and read parameters, data points, and sensor outputs at specified intervals to verify operating conditions and to detect faults and malfunctions. Monitor data such as weather conditions including wind speed, direction, turbulence, irradiance, storms, or equipment temperatures, voltage, current, power, and VAR's. Ensure asset, meteorological, and substation data integrity for internal databases used for reporting purposes and by external entity's real-time operations. Maintain understanding of the compliance requirements where owned and third-party assets are located. Perform diagnostic analysis of operating data to assess operating performance and make recommendations for improvement. Record actions taken during shift in operator's logbook or other automated logging mechanisms. Maintain proficiency in the ROCC's operating systems, integrated SCADA system, and all other plant SCADA systems used in monitoring and controlling plant operations. Ensure compliance to all regulatory and contractual requirements through adherence to all operational procedures, processes, and policies. Utilize accurate and efficient three-way communication skills on inbound and outbound telephone conversations. Collaborate with site personnel as necessary and/or directed. Ability to work 24/7 rotating shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Complete PJM Generation Certification within 1 year of hire. Perform other duties as may be directed by management.
Qualifications:
Must be fluent in English. Effective oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated use of three-part communications. A High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated analytical skills to process information and act as appropriate in a timely manner. Demonstrated ability to respond to emergencies and manage stressful situations. Demonstrated well developed teamwork and interpersonal communication skills. High attention to detail. Exemplary standards of honor, ethics, safety, quality, communication, and productivity. Ability to work proactively and productively with limited supervision. Demonstrated computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite, and network/communications systems. Math skills sufficient to accurately complete required job functions. Must maintain a professional appearance and manner. Must be willing / able to work other shifts as required, including overtime, rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as necessary. Must successfully complete on-the-job training requirements for the position, including passing all relevant certifications and attend assigned training to maintain certifications.
Preferred:
An Associate Degree or higher in Power Plant Technology, Energy Technology, Engineering, or a relevant technical field. PJM Generation Certification CENACE Manual Regulatorio de Coordinación Operativa Certification NERC System Operator Certification Knowledge of
CAISO / ERCOT
rules & regulations. Experience in 24/7 work settings preferred.

Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
