Water Plant Operator Department Head

The City of Newton, Illinois, is accepting applications for the position of Water Treatment Plant Operator . This is a full-time position responsible for the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the City's water treatment facilities in compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Operation and monitoring of water treatment plant processes and equipment Collection of water samples and performance of laboratory testing as required by IEPA and EPA standards Recording and maintaining operational data, logs, and reports Adjustment of chemical feed systems and treatment processes Inspection, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment and facilities Preparation and submission of regulatory reports Response to alarms, system issues, and emergency situations Coordination with other personnel and departments as needed Compliance with all safety practices and regulatory requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Class A, B, C, or D Water Treatment Plant Operator License Three (3) or more years of experience in water treatment operations Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within a specified period

Pay and Benefits:
