  • Check out our employee perks here! What You Will Do In this role, you will support Baton Rouge General's mission by ensuring the safe, reliable operation of the physical plant and equipment across all General Health System facilities.
  • Perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and installations on assigned equipment
  • Maintain optimal operation of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, and steam systems
  • Monitor system operations and respond appropriately to abnormal readings
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine root causes
  • Assist coworkers and contractors with repairs and new equipment installations
  • Follow all safety, environmental, infection control, and fire safety protocols
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives

  • Three (3) years of experience at a journeyman level in an industrial craft (preferred) Additional Skills, Licenses & Knowledge
  • Thorough working knowledge of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, medical gas, and steam systems
  • Proficiency with tools, materials, and equipment used in facility maintenance
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Safety & Compliance Expectations
  • Adheres to all applicable HIPAA regulations as related to job duties
  • Follows all safety practices, including PPE usage, incident reporting, infection control, and exposure prevention
  • Actively promotes patient and employee safety Work Environment
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment
  • Occasional exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents
  • Moderate noise levels
  • May require extended hours during emergencies or critical situations
