  • 3:30AM Hours Per Week 40 Job Description Operate and maintain the power plant equipment where duties include generating steam, making chilled water, supplying soft water, and generating electricity.
Power plant equipment includes boilers, incinerators, pumps, compressors for emergency generators. Receive direction from supervisor on a daily basis. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Minimum Requirements High school diploma or the equivalent. Class "A" Operator's license. Five years experience in the operation and maintenance of equipment in a high pressure steam generation plant or an equivalent combination of education and experience necessary for a Class "A" Operator's License. Ability to maintain and repair equipment using hand and power tools and read and comprehend technical manuals and schematic drawings. If driving is a requirement for the employee, he/she must meet the requirements specified in the Fleet Driving Safety and Compliance Policy and must continue to meet these requirements as a condition of employment. Ability to climb ladders, push and pull up to 95 pounds and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to wear half mask respirator to comply with OSHA requirements. Verbal communication skills to explain procedures to other engineers during training. Preferred Qualifications Technical training at a trade school.
