This opportunity supports the safe and efficient operation, monitoring and maintenance preparation of wells, processing units and related facilities. The role is particularly suited to candidates with strong field operations experience across oil, gas and water separation facilities, together with a practical understanding of process safety and equipment performance. This position offers the chance to contribute to facility operations in a technically demanding environment with a strong focus on safety, reliability and environmental performance. Role Context This opportunity sits within upstream field operations in the oil and gas industry. The role supports wells, processing units and related facilities, with a strong operational focus on oil, gas and water separation facilities and major utilities. Candidates with experience in new facilities start-up and operational readiness will be well aligned to the environment of this position. Key Responsibilities Operate, monitor and support the maintenance preparation of wells, processing units and related production facilities. Maintain a strong focus on personal safety and the safety of colleagues, following and enforcing site safety rules and procedures. Act as a primary operations contact for assigned facilities, understanding process flow, unit chemistry, major line-ups and unit safety equipment, including isolation points. Inspect and monitor equipment and work areas to confirm correct operation and identify issues affecting safety, reliability or performance. Issue safe work permits and carry out gas testing where required to support maintenance activities safely. Monitor process performance through tasks such as gauging tanks, reading meters, recording operating data, taking product samples and checking for leaks, freezing or overheating. Check critical operating parameters including temperature, pressure, level, flow rate and vibration, and adjust local process conditions to maintain performance within operating limits. Carry out basic equipment maintenance activities such as adding lubricants, tightening valve packing, changing filters and clearing equipment. Monitor field equipment using handheld electronic test equipment and computer-based monitoring tools. Inspect safety equipment including safety valves, fire extinguishers, fire hoses and breathing apparatus. Communicate operational conditions and required changes clearly with the Production Foreman. Work in line with environmental policies and procedures, helping to minimise environmental impacts such as flaring emissions and oil spills.
