Job Description
About ReWa Since 1925, Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) has been committed to providing high-quality wastewater treatment services to the Upstate of South Carolina while promoting a cleaner environment, protecting public health and the water quality of Upstate waterways, and developing the necessary sewer infrastructure to sustain our community and growing economy. With nine water resource recovery facilities and more than 350 miles of pipe, we serve a broad geographic area, including Greenville County and portions of Anderson, Laurens, Pickens, and Spartanburg Counties. Each day an estimated 42 million gallons of water passes through our trunk lines and reclamation facilities before being cleaned and returned to our area rivers and streams. Job Summary- The purpose of this position is to oversee the operation of all biosolids dewatering equipment across ReWa's WRRFs. This position will conduct process sampling of solids, perform optimization, oversee polymer trials, provide input on dewatering construction projects, and delegate day-to-day duties to dewatering operators. This position works within a general outline of work to be performed and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision.
Basic Requirements:
- Requires high school diploma, GED, or specialized vocational training.
- Must possess a valid state Position "B" CDL driver's license.

The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the position as necessary.- Ensures biosolids dewatering equipment is operated in an efficient manor to maintain goal productivity rates and maintain acceptable inventory of stored liquid biosolids.
- Facilitates loading, operation, and unloading of solids into cake storage and drying facilities under general supervision.
- Ensures all dewatering facilities are properly maintained.
- Ensures all dewatering and ancillary equipment undergo required preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoots dewatering equipment performance and conducts optimization efforts to ensure a quality cake product.
- Oversees polymer trials at all dewatering facilities.
- Maintains inventory of required spare parts for day-to-day operation, as well as emergency situations.
- Oversees the training of new employees.
- Operates and performs service and first-echelon maintenance on pumps, conveyers, straight dump truck (up to 20-ton capacity), tractor/trailer dump onsite at ReWa facilities.
- Assigns and delegates daily tasks to dewatering operators to ensure program productivity.
- Participates in engineering studies, design, and construction meetings for dewatering equipment rehabilitation and new construction.
- Transports, sets up, operates, and performs service and first-echelon maintenance upon the following additional equipment to perform essential functions of the job under both standard and emergency response scenarios during storm events and major repair operations: mobile (permanent trailer-mounted) pumps, mobile (permanent trailer-mounted) solids loading towers, mobile (permanent trailer-mounted) generators, mobile (permanent trailer-mounted) light towers.
- Understands general land application policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Performs routine tests as required and records results.
- Enters and verifies correct entry of solids records into the database.
- Verifies WIMS dewatering equipment pages are updated and QCs entries.
- Develops dewatering equipment operating schedule for biosolids operators based on needs of WRRFs.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of work performed.
- Inspects equipment for proper and safe working conditions.
- Cleans and maintains assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Receives and responds to inquiries, complaints, and requests for assistance in areas of responsibility.
- Attends conferences, meetings, training, seminars, etc.
