Job Summary Dominion Energy South Carolina is seeking a Power Plant CT Operator Apprentice/Jouneyman for Parr CT and Parr Hydro Plants located in Jenkinsville, SC. Parr Combustion Turbines generate a total capacity of 110 megawatts of electricity with 2 units, and the Hydro Plant generate a total capacity of 15 megawatts of electricity with 6 units. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the electrical, electronic, instrumentation, control, switchgear, exciter, and mechanical problems related to simple cycle combustion turbine & run of the river hydro - generator units Performs I&C, electrical, and mechanical maintenance on plant equipment and systems Operates all plant equipment Performs other manual or administrative work as assigned. Provides support to other sites in the Northern Peaking Unit System as needed for outages. May be asked to provide support for other plants in the DESC area on an infrequent basis.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience Applications will be accepted for a Journeyman or apprentice Power Plant CT Operator with starting pay commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidates who possess one or more of the following preferred qualifications will be considered first: Power Plant CT Operator-Apprentice A minimum of 1 year of related electrical and mechanical maintenance with strong troubleshooting skills is required. Power Plant CT Operator-Journeyman A minimum of 4years of related electrical and mechanical maintenance. Completed Power Plant CT Operator Apprentice program. Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for
Both Levels:
Experience in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and controls problems related to combustion turbine generators Experience operating, inspecting, and maintaining motors, pumps, fans, compressors, and valves. This is a dynamic position that requires applicants to be in good physical condition. Applicants must be able to work standing for prolonged periods, work outside in inclement weather, climb structures, work in confined spaces; perform heavy lifting, and wear a respirator and maintain annual respirator qualifications. Additional requirements include being available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays to operate the units and support outages as well as emergency and upset conditions as they occur. This position is subject to callouts and responses within a reasonable amount of time. Applicants must have the ability to work well independently and as part of a small work team with limited supervision. Preferred Skill Set PLC troubleshooting and programming experience Previous experience in an industrial production environment Experience performing duties associated with mechanical maintenance, operations, and electrical troubleshooting Strong instrumentation and controls experience which would include experience with digital controls systems The ability to change settings, perform minor programming changes, system backups, and have a good understanding of function block and ladder logic A working knowledge of computer operations to include Microsoft applications Education Requirements Completion of high school or equivalent (i.e., GED) is required. Technical associate degree is preferred. Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description Required to obtain and maintain a Class D Wastewater License. Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving history.
