Houston, TX Job DescriptionJob Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Gas Plant Operator to join our dynamic team at our facility. The Gas Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of natural gas processing equipment, ensuring adherence to all safety, environmental, and operational procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of gas processing principles, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to maintaining optimal plant performance. Must live within a 30 minute drive of Fresno, TX 77545. This is a requirement!Responsibilities:
Operational Control:
- Monitor and control plant processes, including compression, dehydration, treating, and fractionation, using SCADA systems, control panels, and field observations.
- Start up, shut down, and operate various equipment, including compressors, pumps, separators, heat exchangers, and control valves.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of plant operations, equipment readings, and maintenance activities.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.
G., OSHA, EPA
).- Conduct regular safety inspections and participate in safety meetings.
- Perform lock-out/tag-out procedures and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Respond to and manage emergency situations, including equipment malfunctions and leaks.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, filter changes, and equipment inspections.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems, including equipment malfunctions and process deviations.
- Assist maintenance personnel with major repairs and preventative maintenance activities.
- Perform sampling and testing of gas and liquid products.
Process Optimization:
- Monitor process parameters and make adjustments to optimize plant efficiency and product quality.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance safety, reliability, and production.
- Maintain fluid levels within specified parameters.
Communication and Teamwork:
- Communicate effectively with other operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve production goals.
- Provide detailed shift turnover information.
Position Requirements:
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, control schematics, and equipment manuals.
- On•Call position•Reliability Required•The ability to travel when needed (a few days a month on average)•High School Diploma/GED (College Degree Preferred Engineering/Science or Process Technology)•Must be eligible to be legally employed in the U.
- Experience with analytical equipment and data is a plus but not required
- A technical degree or background is a plus but not required
- Strong understanding of natural gas processing principles and equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks.
- Basic computer skills.

- Knowledge and comfortability with concepts such as pressure, temperature, chemical composition, and flow are essential to the function of this role.
- Experience in a lab or data driven role utilizing analytical equipment is a plus but not required
- Education, Experience, Certifications, Competencies, Skills, and Abilities above the minimum requirements are not required but are advantageous in this position: Processing Technology Certification ALL offers are contingent on successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle records check in accordance with company policies.
Standard Operating Days/Hours:
- Rotating Schedule 7: 00 AM 7: 00 PM and 7: 00 PM
- 7: 00 AM (not to exclude weekends, overtime and rotating on-call)
