Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Utility Operator and become a vital part of our operations! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining smooth and efficient plant or facility functions by operating and monitoring various equipment and systems. Your proactive approach will ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance across all utility processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop technical skills while contributing to a thriving organization committed to excellence. Duties Operate, monitor, and control utility systems such as water, air, steam, electrical, and waste management equipment to ensure continuous operation. Conduct routine inspections of machinery and infrastructure to identify potential issues before they escalate. Perform basic troubleshooting and assist in the maintenance or repair of utility equipment under supervision. Record operational data accurately in logs and reports to maintain detailed records of system performance. Follow safety protocols diligently, including lockout/tagout procedures, to protect yourself and colleagues during operations. Assist with emergency response procedures related to utility systems, ensuring swift action when needed. Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule preventive maintenance activities and support system upgrades. Experience Previous experience in utility operations, industrial maintenance, or a related technical field is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates. Familiarity with reading technical diagrams, gauges, meters, and control panels is advantageous. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset for identifying issues early. Good communication skills to effectively document activities and collaborate with team members. Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, standing for extended periods, and operating equipment safely.
