Job Description
Lifeboat Technician Automation Blue Marine Staffing is seeking a Lifeboat Technician for a company based in Houston, TX. This position is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, servicing, and and related launching and safety systems to ensure full compliance and safe operation. Compensation $52,000K Annually Schedule and Hours On-Call, as per the schedule of the vessel Lifeboat Technician Duties and Responsibilities Perform inspections, maintenance, servicing, and functional testing of lifeboats, rescue boats, davits, winches, hooks, release gear, and related safety systems Conduct annual, five-year, and load testing in accordance with SOLAS, IMO, flag state, class society, and manufacturer specifications Identify defects, non-conformities, and wear; perform corrective actions or recommend necessary repairs Ensure all work is completed in compliance with approved procedures, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, test certifications, and maintenance documentation Verify proper operation of engines, fuel systems, steering, braking systems, limit switches, alarms, and safety interlocks Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times Lifeboat Technician Qualifications and Requirements Technical training or certification in mechanical, marine, or safety equipment maintenance Prior manufacturer training and approval for lifeboats and rescue boats preferred Working knowledge of
SOLAS, IMO
