  • G Job Duties Responsible for the operation, maintenance, laboratory analysis & documentation at the water/wastewater plants.
To ensure safe potable water is provided to all consumers and/or wastewater effluent discharge meets all Federal and State guidelines. Minimum Qualifications Experience in the operation and maintenance of water or wastewater treatment plants, including performing laboratory analysis and completing required plant documentation. General knowledge of overall treatment plant operations, plant equipment, and control regulations. Experience must reflect responsibility for ensuring safe potable water and/or compliant wastewater effluent that meets all applicable Federal and State guidelines. Additional Considerations Candidates with experience using treatment plant equipment, performing sampling and routine lab testing, and maintaining accurate operational records are preferred. Familiarity with SCADA systems, mechanical troubleshooting, and compliance with VDH and DEQ regulations is beneficial. A Virginia Water or Wastewater Operator License (Class IV or higher) or progress toward licensure is desirable. The ability to work safely in an industrial and correctional environment, following established security and safety protocols.
