is an Employer of Record providing workforce support services to partnered brands operating in regulated industries. The Print Shop Operator - Cannabis Label Production is responsible for producing compliant, high-quality labels for cannabis clients, ensuring all materials meet brand standards, regulatory requirements, and production timelines. This role is highly execution-focused and requires strong attention to detail, technical proficiency with print equipment and design software, and a solid understanding of cannabis compliance standards. The Print Shop Operator works cross-functionally with clients and internal teams to manage label production from concept through final output. Key Responsibilities Label Production & Print Operations Design, prepare, and print product labels for cannabis clients using industry-standard software and hardware Operate and maintain Zebra label printers, ensuring optimal print quality and minimal downtime Troubleshoot print production issues and escalate hardware/software problems as needed Monitor and manage label stock, ink, and supply inventory Design & Artwork Preparation Use Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) to create, edit, and format label artwork per client specifications Ensure proper file setup including dielines, bleed, and color profiles for accurate print production Prepare print-ready artwork and manage prepress requirements Compliance & Quality Control Ensure all labels comply with applicable state and local cannabis regulations, including required disclosures, warnings, THC/CBD content, batch/lot numbers, and licensing information Utilize Retail ID for Cannabis platforms (e.g., METRC, BioTrack, Flowhub) to verify product data and ensure label accuracy Conduct quality control checks on all printed materials prior to fulfillment Workflow & Project Coordination Manage label production workflows from file setup through final output Coordinate with clients to gather label requirements, proof artwork, and obtain approvals Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for label templates and client records Support multiple client projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience in a print shop, label production, or related environment Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and/or Photoshop) Hands-on experience operating and maintaining Zebra label printers (ZPL knowledge a plus) Working knowledge of cannabis compliance regulations (e.g., California DCC standards or equivalent) Experience with cannabis seed-to-sale or POS systems (e.g., METRC, BioTrack, Flowhub) Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Experience working with cannabis brands, dispensaries, or ancillary cannabis businesses Familiarity with ZPL (Zebra Programming Language) or label design tools (e.g., ZebraDesigner, NiceLabel) Knowledge of dieline setup, bleed, and color management for print production Experience with prepress file preparation and print-ready artwork Work Environment Full-time, on-site position Fast-paced production environment with strict deadlines May require occasional lifting of supply boxes and standing for extended periods
