Job Description

Advanced Decision Vectors, LLC (ADV), established in 2009, provides superior program management, program support, strategic planning, and systems engineering to the Federal and Commercial sectors. Located in Alexandria, Virginia, ADV is a Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) contractor that has roots established in the Department of Defense and support agencies. We are seeking a Multi-Media Assistant to support the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Media/Events Center , providing multimedia production and event support for the Office of the Secretary (OST). This role supports a wide range of multimedia initiatives including video production, live events, press conferences, and broadcast communications that support DOT's mission. This position is 100% onsite at DOT Headquarters (1200 New Jersey Avenue, SE, Washington, DC 20590). Candidates must currently reside in the DC metro area and be able to commute to the office daily.
What You'll Do:
Support all production aspects of agency features on a variety of modal and programmatic themes including educational, corporate, federal, and broadcast media presentations, as well as satellite broadcasts, press conferences, webcasting, video teleconferencing, training programs, event documentation, and PowerPoint instructional materials. Determine formats, approaches, content, levels, and mediums necessary to meet production objectives effectively. Construct and position properties, sets, lighting equipment, and other equipment. Control audio equipment to regulate the volume and sound quality during radio and television broadcasts. Discuss production requirements with clients. Coordinate the scheduling, planning, organization, and preparation of video setups for a variety of staged and live studio productions. Use a high level of imagination and ingenuity to ensure that abstract, technical, or sensitive programs are effectively communicated to different audience segments. Television productions range from news features, public service announcements to training and informational video content on virtually any topic. Edit and select raw and stock footage; create titles, artwork, and graphics; source/order still photography, animation, and special effects; assemble rough cuts; synchronize soundtracks; and prepare final sequences of action, music, narration, dialogue, and sound effects to develop finished products. Receive direct and overall policy and program guidance from the Support Services Supervisor and/or Senior Multimedia Specialist. Use independent judgment to recognize and identify problems of an unusual nature and recommend solutions. Assigned work may be reviewed upon completion by Senior Multimedia Specialist, other team members, or the Support Services Supervisor to assure adherence to overall policy and technical accuracy.

TriCaster (Mini, TC-1, or TC-2) Digital audio boards/mixers (e.g., Allen & Heath QU-Series, Yamaha QL5 or QL7) Wireless microphones Video switchers Lighting kits (various configurations) Microsoft Teams or Zoom desktop codecs (PC environment) Broadcast-quality cameras (ENG or studio) PTZ robotic cameras Teleprompters (various systems) DSLR cameras
Required Qualifications:
Active Public Trust security clearance
Education:
BS/BA (highly desired in a related field) with 2-4+ years of relevant experience. Experience demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge as a live television broadcast camera operator , audio operator, live and robotic camera switching, and master control-level signal processing and switching, and studio lighting. Experience in Electronic News Gathering (ENG) , including camera, audio, and lighting support for press events and interviews Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro Strong editing skills , with the ability to produce high-quality content under tight deadlines Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment (e.g., completing edits within short turnaround windows such as a shoot ending at 8:00 AM with deliverables required by 8:45 AM) Newsroom or broadcast environment experience is a plus Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted.
