VP of Operations Position Overview:
The Digital Press Operator is responsible for operating high-speed digital printing equipment within DirectOne's commercial print and mail production facility. This role serves as a critical quality control checkpoint in the production process, ensuring print accuracy, color integrity, layout precision, and adherence to client and postal specifications. The operator supports production efficiency, maintains equipment performance standards, and contributes to meeting daily output goals in a deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Print Production Operations Receive print-ready digital files and prepare jobs for production. Operate multiple high-speed, full-color and black-and-white digital presses, including Ricoh equipment. Monitor print runs continuously to identify and correct deviations from established quality control standards. Ensure print accuracy related to layout, color correction, variable data merging, and postal addressing requirements. Maintain organized workflow and prioritize production schedules to meet daily output targets. Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting Perform daily calibration and quality checks on digital press equipment. Conduct routine maintenance and minor mechanical troubleshooting. Escalate equipment issues as appropriate to minimize downtime. Quality & Compliance Serve as the final quality checkpoint prior to downstream production stages. Maintain adherence to client specifications and USPS addressing requirements as applicable. Keep workspace safe, clean, and organized in accordance with production standards Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience operating high-speed digital printers (Ricoh preferred). Familiarity handling digital print files in multiple formats. Strong understanding of paper stocks, weights, and finishes. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to work on the assigned weekend shift schedule. Strong attention to detail and quality control focus. Experience in marketing automation, personalization platforms, or data-driven campaigns. Familiarity with CRM systems, data integration, or API workflows. Background in print, direct mail, or digital marketing technology environments. Key Competencies Detail orientation and quality focus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the scheduled shift. Ability to frequently use hands and fingers to operate digital press equipment, controls, and computer systems. Ability to frequently reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and twist while loading paper, changing supplies, and performing routine maintenance. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds , with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to safely load paper stocks, toner, and other production materials into printing equipment. Ability to distinguish colors, read print quality, and identify defects in alignment, registration, and image quality. Ability to read computer screens, production schedules, job tickets, and equipment displays. Ability to work in a production environment with moving mechanical equipment, moderate noise levels, paper dust, and varying temperatures. Ability to wear any required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures. Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with operating production equipment and handling printed materials.
