Full Job Description Second Shift:
3PM to 11PM, Monday - Friday, Onsite Wallace Graphics is a leader in the industry and among the largest and fastest growing commercial print companies headquartered in Georgia. Our services span commercial, direct mail, book manufacturing, financial, digital wide format, 3D printing, digital storefront implementation and management, branded apparel, and merchandising. We offer full-service solutions for our clients using the latest technology with the very best equipment. We are looking to hire a Variable Data Processor to grow within our Prepress team in Duluth. This position is responsible for preparing digital files and composing variable data/graphics for printing.
Education/Certification/Licensing Requirements:
Associate's degree (AS) or Bachelor's degree (BS) in Graphic Communications, Printing Technology, Information Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in variable data printing, data processing, or prepress operations in a commercial printing, direct mail, or marketing services environment is required, with demonstrated proficiency in VDP composition tools. Q ualifications, Knowledge & Skill Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. A strong understanding of various design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). Be able to use or willing to learn prepress software like Acrobat, Pitstop, and imposition software. Knowledge of color management, file formats, and printing processes. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Core Responsibilities:
File Management and Pre-flight Preparation Imposition and Trapping Color Management Designing, Building, and Maintaining Variable Data Composition Templates (Adobe InDesign Data Merge or equivalent VDP platforms.) Mapping of Variable Data Fields (text, images, barcodes, QR codes) Developing and Documenting Reusable Template Frameworks Preflight and Quality Control Checks Creating proofs for client review
