Purpose of Position:
To step in as an experienced print operator. Being familiar with RIP software, printer maintenance, trouble shooting ink banding, and general knowledge of large format printing is what we are looking for. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Serve as one of the primary print operators in our printing department. Generally inspire confidence that clients are in good hands with Pace GFX.
- You will report directly to the Print Supervisor when any issues cannot be resolved, or a major concern needs to be addressed with leadership.
- Assist with the scheduling and production of your department through our project management software, MONDAY.
- Ensures all materials are created according to order specifications in a timely manner, maximizing all production equipment's capabilities.
- Will work on assisting with scheduling, addressing complaints, and resolving problems with Print Supervisor.
- Ensure quality and service standards are met and exceeded through establishing of standards, good communication, follow-up, and proper training.
- Achieve scheduled production with the greatest efficiency possible while eliminating waste and reprints.
- Must be able to operate and fully understand all equipment, including but not limited to, printers, CNC routers, finishing equipment including laminators, digital flatbed cutter, etc., within each department in order to create proper training documentation and workflow procedures.
- Must be able to adjust to adapt to new equipment, training, and workflow procedures to meet production schedules and create maximum efficiency.
Qualifications include:
Must have a strong working knowledge of large format printers including but not limited to experience with HP Latex 2700, HP Latex 1500, Vanguard 3200 Roll-to-roll, Vanguard VK300D Flatbed, or similar.
- Bonus to have a working knowledge of CNC routers and digital flatbed cutters like a ZUND or Kongsberg. We currently have a 5x10 AXYZ router, a 4x8 Tornado router and a DYSS X5 digital flatbed cutter.
- Must understand color management and profile building to maximize print speeds and reduce ink costs while creating consistent color across all four printers.
- Strong RIP software knowledge in large production-style software like Caldera, ONYX of Fiery. Caldera experience is a strong plus.
- Strong working knowledge of Enroute and other CNC routing software.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop is a plus to assist in file correction if pre-press and design is not available.
- Must be able to strive in a fast-paced environment, subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity.
- Must be very organized and great in prioritizing, organizing, and planning to see each job through completion and be able to meet given deadlines.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to influence and manage your team.
Additional requirements:
3+ years of wide format printing experience is a MUST 3+ years of CNC routing and digital flatbed experience is a plus 2+ years of color correction experience preferred. 2+ years of pre-press/digital file preparation experience preferred. 2+ years of hands-on experience in finishing Experience with task management software. Able to assist in all departments when called upon to do so Able to lift 60 lbs safely Able to work in any production department to help keep the team on schedule.
