Job Description

Job Purpose To assist in the operation of the press in an OSB manufacturing facility. In this position you will have the opportunity to: Clean and maintain equipment at forming distribution, forming bunkers, forming orientation rolls, forming line and preloader (two times per shift) Clean and maintain equipment at loader, press and unloader (three times per shift) Complete required press pit fire prevention rounds Changes filters at aspiration hoods (2 times shift) Assist maintenance personnel with down time events Lock-out/Tag-out equipment as needed for maintenance repair Relieves Press operator for breaks and absences Collects moisture analysis verification samples from forming line Complete appropriate training to learn the Press Operator role Perform other duties as necessary. Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations. What do I need to be successful?
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of simple equipment operation. Knowledge of general equipment maintenance. Time management skills. Demonstrated mechanical ability. Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations. Ability to bend, lift, stoop, and pull. Ability to work at heights. Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
Education:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Experience:
6 - 12 months experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position. Work Environment Plant environment with exposure to sawdust, chemicals, extreme temperatures (hot and cold), and other inclement conditions.
