Job Description

Job Profile :
The Brake Press Operator will be responsible for set up and to operate the brake to bend, notch, punch, or straighten metal plates or sheet metal to blueprint or sketch specifications, to support production. The Brake Press Operator will report directly to the Production Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform set-ups and die changes when required by job. Work with steel 1.5mm to 30mm thick. Read and interpret blue prints and schematics to produce various configurations. Measures and verifies dimensions of work piece. Interpret precise measuring instruments, and measure parts for proper specification. Checks product for correct shape, dimension and other specifications. Perform quality inspection for all parts and components produced by ensuring correct sizes, flatness, and tolerances for the Customer. Completion of work orders required for shift in a timely fashion, following the correct order schedule. May be required to grind laps or burrs from edges of work piece. Ensure packaging is properly set up as specified by the Customer (if packaging is required). Document completed work. Clean and lubricate equipment as required. Follow strict quality control procedures. Follow good housekeeping practices. Follows and comply with all Operational Procedures and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e.
IATF, ISO 14001
) Any other duties as may be assigned. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities One year certificate from College or Technical School, or six (6) months to one (1) year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Metal Fabrication experience. Some prior experience in a manufacturing environment would be preferred Ability to interpret blueprints / shop fabrication drawings. Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Mathematically inclined. Comfortable to work with large size components. Experience operating overhead crane equipment. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Safety focused.
