In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, setting up, and operating press brake machines to accurately bend sheet metal components according to engineering specifications. Your expertise will ensure precision and efficiency in fabricating high-quality metal parts, supporting our production goals and maintaining safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and contribute to the creation of complex metal assemblies. Duties Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to determine proper machine setup and operation. Set up press brake machines, including adjusting tooling, die selection, and machine parameters for each job. Program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) press brakes to automate bending processes for complex parts. Use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and ensure quality standards are met. Operate forklifts and cranes safely to move raw materials and finished products within the workspace. Conduct quality inspections on bent components using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers. Troubleshoot machine issues, perform routine maintenance, and make adjustments to optimize performance. Collaborate with fabrication teams on tooling selection, setup procedures, and process improvements. Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all operations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Requirements Proven experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical knowledge of CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, welding, electrical discharge machining (EDM), stamping presses, and other fabrication equipment. Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret GD&T specifications for precise bending tasks. Familiarity with CNC programming software and manual setup procedures for various types of sheet metal fabrication. Knowledge of tooling selection, calibration, and maintenance for press brakes and related machinery. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting machine setups. Experience with quality inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments. Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification is preferred. Physical ability to lift heavy materials using cranes or hand tools; comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality output.
