Manufacturing Crane Full Job Description Purpose/Summary:
Perform duties necessary to fabricate material according to customer specifications. The Press Brake Operator is responsible for proper set-up, communication, and monitoring equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In-depth understanding of the parts of a press brake and how the machine works Computer skills to operate CNC software Able to assist in updating customer prints and routers for all programming and tooling information. Perform first piece inspections of parts as they come off the brakes, and spot check parts to ensure continued quality. Helping schedule maintenance for the machines, troubleshoot minor issues, and make sure tooling inventory is properly managed. Ability to successfully use the AS400 computer software, complete paperwork, and create production reports. Complete assigned duties in accordance with safety policies and practices. In regards to not just individual safety but the safety of other employees, and the safe use of equipment in the workplace. Wear approved provided personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, etc. Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor, lead person, or management.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions may consist of loud noise, vibratory tools, repetitive motions, airborne particles such as metal dust and chips and exposure to chemicals, fumes and bright light. Physical requirements include continual standing, walking, lifting, twisting with periodic bending, climbing, stooping, crawling and crouching.
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:
A minimum of one (3) year previous press brake work experience is preferred. Ability to read and understand measuring tools and equipment such as a tape measure, calipers and micrometer. Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts. Ability to perform math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions as well as convert fractions to decimals or vice versa. Ability to recognize and interpret colors according to the company's classification system. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, as well as lift and move heavier objects with the assistance of cranes, forklifts, or another employee. Knowledge of general shop procedures and rules including safety precautions. Ability and willingness to cooperate with co-workers and work as part of a production team.
