machine maintenance Full Job Description Crown Staffing is currently seeking experienced Press Brake Operators to fill openings with a local Manufacturing company in Riverside, MO.
Position Summary:
The Press Brake Operator is responsible for safely setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to form metal components that meet precise automotive specifications. This role requires technical skill, attention to detail, and a strong focus on quality and efficiency in a high-volume fabrication environment.
Key Responsibilities- Machine Setup & Operation:
Set up and operate CNC or manual press brake machines to bend, form, or punch metal components according to engineering drawings and process sheets. Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, punches, and fixtures. Adjust machine parameters such as back gauge position, bend angles, and material alignment to achieve required tolerances. Perform first-piece inspections and adjust programs as needed to maintain quality.
Production & Quality Control:
Interpret blueprints, work orders, and fabrication drawings to ensure correct dimensions and bend sequences. Verify part quality using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and gauges. Identify and report nonconforming materials or defects immediately. Work closely with the quality team to maintain IATF 16949 and
ISO 9001
standards.
Maintenance & Safety:
Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on press brake machines. Keep tooling and work areas clean, organized, and compliant with 5S standards. Follow all safety procedures , including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout practices.
Continuous Improvement:
Recommend process or tooling improvements to increase efficiency or reduce scrap. Participate in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and quality initiatives.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Proficiency in CNC press brake operation (Amada, Cincinnati, Trumpf, Bystronic, or similar). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T . Understanding of metal properties, bend allowances, and forming techniques . Skilled in the use of measuring instruments and inspection equipment. Basic math and computer literacy for program entry and part verification. Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork.
Education & Experience:
Education:
High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
Experience:
2-5 years of experience operating a press brake in a fabrication or automotive manufacturing environment. Familiarity with CNC programming (e.g., Amada AP100, Delem, or similar controls) preferred. Performance Metrics (KPIs): Parts Produced per Shift / Machine Utilization Scrap and Rework Rate Setup Time Efficiency First-Pass Yield (FPY)
