Full Job Description Press Brake Operator Job Title:

First Shift, Monday-Friday (6am-4:30pm) OR (7am-5:30pm)
Salary:
$25-$32/Hr., based on experience. Summary The candidate will be responsible for operating press brake machinery to bend and shape metal sheets according to specifications. Duties include machine setup, material handling, quality control, and maintenance. Requires experience in machine operation, technical skills in blueprint reading, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. Collaboration with team members to optimize production processes is essential. Candidates with Safan or Accurpress experience may qualify for compensation above $26/hour based on experience and demonstrated ability. Operators must also be willing to support other production departments when press brake workloads are slow. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operating Press Brake Machinery:
Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, shape, and form metal sheets according to blueprints, templates, and specifications.
Material Handling:
Load and unload materials onto the press brake machine, ensuring proper alignment and positioning for accurate bending and forming.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, making adjustments to machine settings as necessary.
Machine Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance tasks on press brake machinery, such as cleaning and lubricating.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper handling of hazardous materials.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of production output, machine settings, and quality inspections.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with team members, including supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel, to optimize production processes and resolve any issues that may arise.
Housekeeping:
Maintaining a clean environment to work in throughout the entire department.
Cross-Training:
Support other production departments and work centers when press brake workloads are reduced. Occasional overtime is required, and on rare occasions a few hours on Saturday. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be available.
Experience:
Previous experience operating press brake machinery in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Experience operating Safan or Accurpress press brakes is strongly preferred and required for consideration above $26/hour.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding technical drawings is essential. Familiarity with measuring tools and equipment, such as calipers and micrometers, is also beneficial.
Mechanical Aptitude:
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills are necessary for troubleshooting machine issues and making adjustments to ensure proper operation. Attention to

Excellent attention to detail is required to accurately interpret specifications and ensure the quality of finished products.
Physical Stamina:
The ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials is necessary in this role.
Safety Awareness:
Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in a manufacturing environment.
Teamwork:
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly and collaboratively with colleagues to achieve production goals. Punctuality and dependability, with a good attendance history. Good math skills, reading and communication skills. Physical Requirements Reasonable accommodations may be available. Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment with temperatures ranging from up to 102°F and below 20°F. Ability to remain on their feet in an upright position and/or move about on foot for the duration of their shift.
Pay:
