Press Brake Operator Cardinal Metalworks - 4.0 Burgaw, NC Job Details Full-time 3 days ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Press brake machine Teamwork Precision measuring instruments Report writing Basic math Interpreting technical drawings Moving Calipers Shop math Machining Manufacturing Full Job Description We are seeking a press brake operator with a desire to work with your hands in a busy manufacturing environment. Training will be provided, but you must be dependable and have a desire to learn and grow while working in a team environment. Role and Responsibilities
  • Performs daily preventative maintenance on machine according to schedule provided by the production manager.
  • Selects and mounts bending tools including upper and lower punches and dies to machine.
  • Downloads CNC Program to machine control and sets back stops.
  • Loads material into machine and actuates stroke to make bend(s).
  • Runs first piece sample and inspects using template or calipers.
  • Monitors production operation of machine and checks parts for conformance to drawing according to schedule provided by Quality Manager.
  • Unloads bent parts from machine, identify and move to designated area.
  • Completes documentation required on Work Order.
The above declarations represent a general outline of the duties and responsibilities of this position. Duties may be added or subtracted as business conditions or other circumstances require. Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equip. Trumpf machinery experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and Procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and brief memos. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs and calculate bend reductions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
