Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fab Shop Lead / Press Brake Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in setting up and operating press brakes to bend, form, and fabricate metal components to precise tolerances. Experience in programming, calculating stretch outs, bump forming, and rolling is essential. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and passionate about metal fabrication. Hourly wage 25+, based on experience of candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC press brakes to fabricate custom metal parts according to blueprints, drawings, and work orders. Program press brake machines directly at the controller, including selecting tools, calculating bend deductions/stretch outs, and optimizing bend sequences. Interpret and verify specifications using precision measuring instruments and CAD drawings. Perform complex forming techniques including bump forming and rolling to achieve specific contours and radii. Inspect finished parts to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards are met. Collaborate with engineers and other fabricators to troubleshoot and refine fabrication processes. Maintain equipment, tools, and a clean, organized work area. Follow safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience operating and programming CNC press brakes in a custom fabrication setting. Proven ability to calculate stretch outs and read complex fabrication blueprints. Hands-on experience with bump forming and rolling techniques. Strong understanding of sheet metal properties, tolerances, and bend allowances. Familiarity with multiple gauge metals and a variety of fabrication tools and machines. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
