Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Press Brake Operator - Set Up to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, setting up, and operating press brake machines to form sheet metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise in CNC programming, tooling, and blueprint reading will ensure that production runs smoothly while maintaining the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and contribute directly to the creation of high-quality fabricated metal products. Duties Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to determine proper machine setup and tooling requirements. Program CNC press brake machines using CAD/CAM software to achieve precise bends and formations. Set up press brake equipment by selecting appropriate tooling, adjusting machine parameters, and ensuring proper calibration for each job. Operate CNC press brake machinery safely and efficiently, monitoring operations for quality and consistency throughout production runs. Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on press brake equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet strict quality standards. Collaborate with fabrication, welding, and assembly teams to coordinate workflow and resolve any production issues promptly. Qualifications Proven experience operating CNC press brake machines in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Strong mechanical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes including CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, stamping presses, and electrical discharge machining (EDM). Skilled in blueprint reading, GD&T interpretation, and basic math calculations necessary for precise machining. Familiarity with tooling setup, calibration procedures, and quality inspection techniques using micrometers and other precision measuring tools. Ability to program CNC equipment using CAD/CAM software; experience with CNC programming is highly desirable. Knowledge of safety protocols related to crane operation, hand tools usage, welding safety practices, and general manufacturing safety standards. Basic understanding of mechanical systems involved in manufacturing processes such as stamping presses and CNC milling machines. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting equipment issues quickly. Strong teamwork ethic with effective communication skills to coordinate across departments.
