Job Overview Reporting to the Insert Supervisor, the Insert Lead, will be responsible for supporting their supervisor in processing work orders and getting mail out the door. Lead will actively participate in stimulating a positive work environment within the department, allocating and tracking jobs, prioritizing deadlines, overcommunicating their progress, meeting goals, and addressing areas of concern with their supervisor. In addition, the Lead will take part in running equipment, proofing quality of mail, sorting or palletizing mail trays, and maintaining the cleanliness of the department. Lead will apply 5S and Lean standards and work closely with others in coaching, motivating, and facilitating these tools in the department. Duties and Responsibilities Supports in implementing and carrying out the supervisor's day-to-day goals to ensure jobs are mailed out and deadlines are met on time. Coordinates and aids the supervisor in course-correcting bottlenecks in production. Responds immediately to issues that arise on the floor. Assists in supporting supervisor and team members needs with answering clarifying questions. Actively participates in keeping the insert equipment running and maintaining uptime. Proficient at marking deadlines, arranging work orders, and prepping jobs to run at swing-arm insert stations. Proficient at troubleshooting small fixes at all insert stations to run and operate. Advanced in utilizing the production site to update or customize a job. Qualified at processing a first-class pick-up. Qualified at operating an inline print press and use its components. Qualifications We care more about who you are than what you've done. That said, here are some highlights of the type of person and background we believe would thrive: Experience in a production, manufacturing, or mailing environment preferred. Experience with Lean Six Sigma and 5S preferred. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues preferred. Follow and have an awareness of HIPPA guidelines. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to support, guide, and motivate team members on the production floor. Strong sense of accountability and ownership—someone who takes pride in hitting deadlines and solving problems in real time. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Clear communicator who can respond quickly and calmly when issues arise Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple work orders and priorities.
