Job Title:

Set Up Operator Job Description The role involves performing essential prepress tasks, such as plate mounting and demounting, as well as managing plates efficiently. You will mix and color match inks using Pantone guides and measurement tools, and prepare and issue materials like inks and laminates using production systems. Additionally, you will support press operators with setups, changeovers, and cleanups while monitoring quality and production key performance indicators, including waste, efficiency, and output. Maintaining equipment, completing necessary documentation, and adhering to safety procedures are also crucial aspects of this position. There will be opportunities to cross-train and assist in other production roles as required. Responsibilities Perform prepress tasks including plate mounting/demounting and plate management. Mix and color match inks using Pantone guides and measurement tools. Prepare and issue materials (inks, laminates) using production systems. Support press operators with setups, changeovers, and cleanup. Monitor quality and production KPIs (waste, efficiency, output). Maintain equipment, complete documentation, and follow safety procedures. Cross-train and assist in other production roles as needed. Essential Skills Experience in prepress, printing, or manufacturing. Hands-on experience with plates, inks, or production setup. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Label or packaging industry experience. Familiarity with DSI or similar systems.
