5:00AM TO 1:00PM ~ Monday through Friday or 6:00AM TO 2:00PM ~ Monday through
Friday PAY:
$25 to $29 an hour depending on experience The Digital Press Operator Reports directly to Manager of Press Department
JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE
Under the direction of the Pressroom Manager, the Digital Press Operator sets up, adjusts and operates equipment to prepare product for the next operation, ensuring the meeting of customer specifications. Responsible for maintenance and all operations of the digital presses, including make readies, running and clean ups. Responsible for high quality work and meeting customers expectations of matching approved proofs. Also, responsible for operations of all other digital equipment, such as UV coater. Assist in maintaining inventory materials and supplies needed for the department. Schedules preventive maintenance and equipment repair issues as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Review job tickets and plan work process to ensure meeting of customer specifications. II. Set up assigned machine to specifications, obtain approval of set up and run product. III. Monitor assigned machine during run to ensure adherence to specifications. Unload machine and stack materials on pallets. IV. Make adjustments as needed to maintain specifications and operating speed. V. Ensure the completion of jobs meeting quality and quantity requirements. VI. Perform all required maintenance to machines according to departmental procedures. VII. Troubleshoot machine problems, resolving if possible, notifying Manager as needed. VIII. Complete special projects as assigned. IX. Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc. X. Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards. XI. Ability to work flexible hours and willing to work overtime when needed. XII. Adhere to all policy and procedures as outlined in the BH Handbook. XIII. Capable of working independently and as part of a team. XIV. Meet at determined intervals with Department Manager to discuss and determine goals, performance, incentives for current and in the future. XV. Attend all scheduled safety meetings as designed for the department.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend job tickets, customer specifications, and memos. Ability to effectively communicate with other employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or computer form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Required to operate other equipment related to the press, such as tabber, scanner, ink mixer. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to walk; use foot/feet to operate machines, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
