We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Heat Treat Set-Up Operator to join our manufacturing team in beautiful Grand Haven! The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating heat treatment equipment, ensuring precise process control, and maintaining high-quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with various machining and fabrication tools. Responsibilities Operate and monitor heat treatment equipment, including furnaces and quenching systems, to achieve specified material properties. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and process specifications to determine appropriate heat treatment parameters. Perform routine maintenance and calibration on heat treatment machinery to ensure optimal performance. Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensions and material properties post-treatment. Maintain accurate records of heat treatment cycles, process parameters, and inspection results for traceability. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to coordinate production schedules and ensure timely completion of heat-treated components. Follow all safety procedures related to high-temperature operations, handling of hazardous materials, and equipment use. Assist in setup and operation of auxiliary fabrication tools such as plasma cutters, CNC laser cutting machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, press brake machines, welding equipment, and electrical discharge machining tools as needed.
