As a Bindery Machine Operator, you'll support Hal Leonard's mission by operating a variety of specialized bindery equipment to transform printed materials into high-quality finished products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Set-up and operation of a variety of bindery machines, including folders, cutters, binders, scorers, and more. Maintain, adjust and set up equipment per job specifications. Cut, bind, and finish materials according to job specifications. Responsible for following safety precautions to avoid injury to self and others. Establish and maintain a high level of productivity, quality and accuracy of product being made. Maintain a constant awareness of machine's operation to avoid product waste and/or machine breakdown. Communicate (written and/or verbal) with fellow employees on other shifts on job related matters. Perform other duties and responsibilities apparent or as delegated.Knowledge and Skills:
Verbal communication skills Ability to read and understand written information. Ability to distinguish color. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment.Marginal Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists the department in additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Keep work area clean.Working Relationships:
Work with Operations Manager & Bindery Team Lead to obtain guidance on projects and priorities. Work with all levels of Hal Leonard LLC and outside personnel to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined. Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Manual Dexterity Repeatedly required to walk, bend, reach, twist, turn and stand in one place for extended periods of time. Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; eye/hand coordinator; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk, hear and ability to distinguish color.Machines or Equipment Operated :
Larger bindery machines, fork lift, power dollies, hand tools, measuring instruments, dials, etc.Physical Effort:
The ability to handle 40-50 lb lifts of paper stock repeatedly when loading or unloading a machine. Working Conditions Standard production environment.
