Job Description

We are seeking a CNC Machine Shop Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work alongside experienced professionals to support the production and assembly of high-quality parts. Your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks, secondary operations to machine operation and quality control. This role could be full-time for someone who would like a future in a machine shop or it would be great for someone who would like to work part-time on a consistent basis. Please indicate which you'd be interested in.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
Perform secondary operations on materials to complete the production and manufacturing process. Set up and operate band saws, punch presses, and other machine shop equipment. Handle raw materials and ensure proper stock levels.
Deburring and Finishing:
Utilize deburring equipment and hand tools to remove burrs and sharp edges from machined parts. Perform secondary operations such as countersinking, polishing, and other finishing tasks.
General Shop Duties:
Assist in cleaning and maintaining equipment and machinery. Perform light assembly tasks as needed. Complete scheduled maintenance tasks and identify repair needs. Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
Teamwork and Communication:
Collaborate with the team to meet production goals and ensure timely delivery of parts. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to address issues and share information. Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience in a machine shop environment is preferred.
Skills:
Familiarity with standard shop tools (drill presses, saws, grinders). Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
