Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Bindery Operator, where you will play a vital role in the finishing process of printed materials. This energetic position involves operating and maintaining bindery equipment to ensure high-quality, precise finishing of print jobs. You'll be instrumental in transforming raw printed sheets into polished, finished products ready for distribution, all while adhering to safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Operate bindery machinery such as folding machines, guillotine cutters, perfect binders, and saddle stitchers to complete print finishing tasks efficiently. Set up and adjust equipment based on job specifications, ensuring accurate cuts, folds, and bindings. Conduct quality control checks throughout the finishing process to maintain high standards of accuracy and consistency. Perform routine maintenance on machinery to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with prepress and production teams to verify job specifications, including layout design, typography, and color management requirements. Manage material handling using forklifts or other equipment to move large quantities of printed materials safely. Maintain detailed records of job progress, machine settings, and quality inspections for traceability and accountability. Requirements Proven experience operating bindery equipment such as folding machines, cutters, or binding machines in a manufacturing or print environment. Knowledge of print finishing techniques including folding, binding (perfect binding, saddle stitching), and trimming. Ability to troubleshoot machinery issues quickly. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control and precision finishing. Physical ability to lift heavy materials safely and operate forklifts or similar equipment (certification preferred). $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
