About the Role We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Specialist to set up and operate press brakes, turret punches, and other metal forming equipment. In this role, you will transform raw materials into precision components, ensuring they meet exact specifications and contribute to the overall quality of our products. Your expertise in machine adjustments and program editing will be crucial to our success. Responsibilities Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and sample parts to determine the required dimensions, tolerances, and operational sequences for fabrication projects. Select and install appropriate dies, accessories, and materials for use in press brakes and punching machines to achieve desired forming and cutting results. Calculate and adjust machine controls to regulate bending, punching, and forming parameters, ensuring accurate and consistent results. Load, modify, and optimize computerized machine control programs to ensure efficient and precise operation of equipment. Monitor machine operation and part output, identifying and correcting any malfunctions or deviations from specified tolerances to maintain quality standards. Verify the accuracy of finished parts using precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, calipers, and laser inspection systems. Prepare finished parts by deburring edges and holes, and implementing protective measures to prevent damage during handling and subsequent operations. Maintain equipment in optimal working condition through regular maintenance and cleaning, adhering to established 5S procedures for workplace organization. Qualifications Required Skills Minimum of 5 years of experience operating press brakes and punch presses in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and bill of materials. Strong understanding of material properties and bend allowances for various materials. Ability to program and adjust CNC program values to optimize machine performance. Preferred Skills Experience with Virtek laser inspection systems. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and 5S methodologies. Certification in forklift operation. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues.
