Job Description

Reporting to the Pressroom Manager, this position must be able to read and comprehend job tickets and memos to ensure customer satisfaction. Pressman should have the ability to run a press machine, make mechanical adjustments to ensure quality and color meet the specifications given by the customer. Pressman will lead by example and help with daily training. General maintenance of machines will be conducted by Pressman. 2nd Shift - 2pm-10pm Monday through
Friday Specific Responsibilities Include:
Knowledge of the setup and operation of assigned printing equipment. Print order following the information and specifics listed on the work order with an emphasis on accuracy. Calculate and record an exact account of all completed work on a weekly performance sheet. Knowledge of required measuring instruments (scales, calipers, and densitometer). Registration monitoring, interpreting shop floor paperwork and drawings. Measure stock and have it cut appropriately for the specific work order. Conduct weekly maintenance on machinery, reporting any issues or problems to your supervisor. Return and file all artwork and plates to its designated area on a daily basis. Take inventory of materials for the week and month. Continually learning new processes to increase efficiency as well as maintaining proficiency in the operation of all current equipment, including but not limited to all offset equipment. Assist feeder operator with the training process and daily task to assure business needs are met. Responsible for all work being completed in a timely manner. Other duties as assigned. The Person Qualifications & Experience Technical problem-solving skills. Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures. Detail and results oriented, with emphasis on accuracy. Follow general safety rules provided by the company. Personal Characteristics Three years' experience in printing. Printing trades preferred, or a combination of education and experience. Strong sense of urgency. Positive energy that attracts others with positive, can-do attitude A collaborator who builds on strengths and provides encouragement as opposed to focusing on weakness and criticism. Someone who is relentlessly persistent and refuses to give up. Someone who exudes a team first ethos with no discernible self-interest or ego. Highest standards of accuracy and precision: highly organized. Ability to think creatively, highly driven, and self-motivated.
