This position is ideal for a production-minded leader who thrives in a fast-paced print manufacturing environment and has deep technical knowledge of commercial bindery equipment and workflow management. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising daily production activities, managing schedules and workflow, maintaining quality standards, troubleshooting equipment issues, and personally operating bindery machinery as needed. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day workflow and production scheduling for the bindery department Oversee operation and productivity of: Cutters Folders Stitchers PUR binding equipment Collators Ensure all jobs are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule Personally operate bindery equipment during production demands or staffing shortages Monitor quality control throughout all finishing processes Train, mentor, and supervise bindery staff Coordinate with pressroom, prepress, and customer service teams to maintain workflow efficiency Troubleshoot mechanical and production issues to minimize downtime Perform preventative maintenance and work with service technicians when needed Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment Manage inventory of bindery supplies and materials Qualifications Minimum 7-10 years of bindery production experience in a commercial print environment Proven experience managing or leading bindery operations Strong hands-on knowledge of commercial bindery equipment and finishing processes Ability to personally operate all major bindery equipment listed above Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting abilities Strong organizational and workflow management skills Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced production environment Excellent communication and leadership skills Commitment to quality, accuracy, and efficiency Preferred Qualifications Experience with digital and offset print finishing environments Knowledge of lean manufacturing or workflow optimization practices Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Benefits package available Opportunity to join a respected Memphis printing company with a strong reputation for quality and service
