FLEXOGRAPH PRESS OPERATOR

The Flexo-Graph/Digital Press Operator will provide quality service in label manufacturing by: Setting up and operating, label making equipment, to include printing press, digital press, die-cutting machines, and turret rewind machines. Maintains machinery in good working condition by performing routine and scheduled maintenance. Troubleshoot and make machinery adjustments. Set up impressions on press; mount printing plates to cylinders and set color labels. Set die-cutting pressures. Register two-color printing and die cuts. Order supplies; inks, dies and paper. Produce expected levels of throughput and maintain a safe and clean work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience and a minimum of 2 years printing operations in a manufacturing environment. Good hand-eye coordination. Must have a keen eye for color. Must be able to use hand tools. Experience with operating and setting up machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment is required. Previous Flexo-Graph Press operation experience preferred. Good organizational skills are required. Must be able to work independently. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with an ever-changing number of variables relating to the types of labels and folders involved. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Regularly required to sit and/or stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
