We will fully train the right people in a few main aspects of hard cover bookbinding. And with time, the right candidates can end up learning all positions in the bindery. The positions we are currently looking for are in the sewing department (industrial book sewing machines), you would learn to feed paper in a machine to bind together. Also trimming the pages of the books with a guillotine machine, adding the round to the back of the book and cutting the parts of the book cover & assembling. Also typesetting to add the titles to the book covers. Many other bindery tasks will be learned along the way. There is no experience necessary as we will fully train you, but attention to detail, good measuring skills or artistic abilities are all a plus. Grimm Book Bindery is a family owned business that has been in the Madison area since 1854 (that's NOT a typo!) We bind small run editions or rebind, repair & restore all sorts of books. If you've always wanted to learn bookbinding, this would be the way and you could be paid for it too! We train for all positions as there are not a lot of people that know bookbinding.
