This person will be responsible for managing production output, quality, efficiency, on-time delivery, training, equipment support, and continuous improvement within a technical manufacturing environment. This is a strong opportunity for someone with hands-on PVD coating experience who is ready to take ownership of a department and lead both people and process improvement.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily manufacturing operations within the coating division Schedule and prioritize jobs to maintain workflow, productivity, and on-time delivery Set up, program, adjust, and occasionally operate PVD coating equipment as needed Provide technical support for equipment issues, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance Coordinate and document training for new and existing employees Generate daily production reports and communicate updates to management Monitor quality, productivity, scrap, downtime, and setup efficiency Lead corrective action efforts using root cause analysis and 5 Why methods Support
ISO 9001
quality standards, SPC procedures, and process documentation Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas Communicate with supervisors, lead workers, vendors, and international technical support teams Recommend process improvements, capital equipment needs, and cost-reduction opportunities Support employee performance reviews, scheduling, time away requests, and overtime planning
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a PVD coating environment preferred Experience may be considered in combination with technical school, college-level training, or equivalent hands-on background Must have hands-on experience with PVD coating equipment Ability to set up and program PVD coating machines Strong troubleshooting and equipment adjustment skills Experience leading, training, and evaluating employees Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop routings, and engineering notes Computer literate with ability to maintain records and generate reports Familiarity with ISO 9001, SPC, corrective action, timekeeping, and production data collection preferred Strong decision-making skills and ability to work independently Knowledge of safety procedures, employee welfare standards, and manufacturing best practices

Compensation & Schedule:
