About the Role We are seeking a motivated Lead Press Operator to join our production team in Palm Desert. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is looking to build a long-term career in commercial printing and develop into a highly skilled pressman. While prior sheet-fed offset press experience is preferred, we value attitude, work ethic, and a willingness to learn . We operate a Heidelberg CD102 sheet-fed offset press with the support of a dedicated Press Assistant. We are willing to provide Heidelberg-specific training and certification for the right candidate. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and maintain a Heidelberg sheet-fed offset printing press. Review job tickets and production specifications to ensure accurate setup and execution of print jobs. Monitor print quality throughout production runs and make adjustments as needed to maintain customer standards. Maintain proper color consistency, registration, and overall print quality. Work closely with the Press Assistant to maximize efficiency and maintain production schedules. Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and preventive care on press equipment. Troubleshoot press-related issues and work proactively to minimize downtime. Monitor paper, ink, and other consumables to reduce waste and improve productivity. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Collaborate with production management and team members to meet quality and delivery goals. Qualifications Required Previous experience in a commercial printing or manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to learn quickly and take direction well. Dependable work ethic and strong attention to detail. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced production environment. Preferred Experience operating sheet-fed offset printing presses. Experience with Heidelberg presses or similar equipment. Understanding of color management, registration, and print quality standards.
