$25-30 per hour Core Responsibilities Required Qualifications & SkillsExperience:
Generally requires 2+ years of experience in a pressroom, often as a 3rd pressman or apprentice.Technical Skills:
Mechanical aptitude, knowledge of printing processes (offset, flexographic), and the ability to read job specifications.Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50-75 pounds, stand for long periods (12-hour shifts), and work in, sometimes, hot or noisy environments.- Experience with Heidelberg or Komori 640 press.
- UV or conventional ink experience
- Print brochures, books, cards and folders
Color Aptitude:
Must be able to pass a color differentiation test.Skills:
Press Operation & Setup:
Assist in the preparation and operation of the press, including installing plates and blankets, filling ink fountains, and managing solvent levels.Quality Control:
Monitor color consistency, register, and print quality throughout the run, making necessary adjustments to inking and dampening systems.Maintenance & Cleanup:
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the press, including washing blankets and cleaning ink rollers.Support Functions:
Manage paper stock (splicing), organize materials for upcoming jobs, and complete required production documentation/paperwork.Safety & Training:
