Job DescriptionLead the execution of the Press production to exceed expectations in safety, quality, productivity, schedules, housekeeping, and employee relations.
Responsibilities:
Effectively lead applicable administrative and manufacturing employees on one or more shiftsMeet scheduled delivery dates and work-in-process timesDirect the printing of products at the most economical costs that are consistent with prescribed quality, accuracy, safety, and performance standardsMotivate staff in support of department and plant objectives and timely and effective deployment of assigned workforce to ensure production goals.

Develop, retain, and motivate staff to ensure safety and productivityAnalyze and resolve work-related problems and assist employees with troubleshooting and solving production/quality issuesEnsure the press department activity meets or exceeds the overall company and customer quality/service expectationsFacilitate and support Safety Programs and Safety Teams and encourage an overall culture of safety with the intent of eliminating all unsafe behaviors and conditions within the facility.

Maintain and encourage excellent housekeeping practices and safety awareness on all shiftsSupport active costs, scrap, and work reduction programs to improve the profit positionFoster the implementation and use of TQM concepts.

Promote working as a team and with other departments to build continuous improvement within RR DonnelleyWork in conjunction with Human Resources and Operations Management to maintain a positive employee relations environmentWork to eliminate all unsafe behaviors and conditions within the plant. Fully support and practice Safety Training Observation Program techniques on a daily basis. Assure the maintenance of excellent housekeeping practices and safety awareness on all shifts.

Perform other related duties as required.

Must have the ability and willingness to work multiple shifts, including nights.

Train others in new processes and lean methodologiesShare your expertise and help train other employees as assignedQualificationsMust have 5 + years working in a Commercial Press /Printing environmentAt least 1 year of leadership exposureHigh School or GED - A High School Diploma or its equivalency is required4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Business, Manufacturing or related fieldStrong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.

Demonstrated ability to successfully manage people and direct work activitiesAdditional InformationThe national pay range for this role is $64,000.00 to $98,400.00 annually. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
