Our print department combines UV printing, laser engraving, digital press production, and specialty finishing to create highly unique collectible products. We are seeking a Senior Printing Engineer / Print Production Specialist who brings deep technical experience in print production along with the creativity and initiative to develop new products and push the boundaries of what our equipment can do. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys experimenting with equipment, materials, and processes to create new products and capabilities the way you would if you were running your own shop. This position plays a key role in operating advanced equipment, developing new printing processes, and ensuring our products meet extremely high quality standards. Develop New Products and Printing Techniques Innovation is a key part of this role.
You will:
Experiment with new materials, inks, and substrates Develop new printing techniques and enhancements Prototype new collectible products and packaging concepts Help bring product ideas from concept to finished production Push our equipment to create things competitors cannot easily replicate Improve Production Efficiency Identify opportunities to: Streamline production workflows Reduce waste and improve throughput Optimize printing processes Introduce new finishing or embellishment techniques Troubleshoot Complex Print Challenges Diagnose and solve issues related to: Ink adhesion Curing and surface preparation Color consistency Mechanical calibration Substrate compatibility Collaborate on Product Development Work closely with product development, design, and leadership teams to determine technical feasibility and execute innovative product ideas. This role encourages ideas that can: Create new collectible products Unlock new printing capabilities Expand what our company can manufacture Improve our competitive advantage in the market What We're Looking For 5+ years of professional printing experience Experience operating UV printers, digital presses, or specialty print equipment Strong knowledge of printing substrates, inks, finishes, and materials Previous print shop ownership strongly preferred Experience troubleshooting complex printing issues Hands-on mechanical aptitude with production equipment Strong attention to detail and quality control Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and RIP software (RasterLink or similar) Highly Preferred Experience owning, operating, or managing a print shop Experience developing new printed products or production processes Experience printing on metal, plastics, or specialty substrates Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in building new production capabilities Compensation & Benefits Full-time position Competitive hourly compensation based on experience Benefits include: Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401k w/employer match Profit Sharing Paid time off Employee product discounts Location Charlotte, NC (In-person) Hours
