Your Impact (Day-to-Day Responsibilities) Working closely under the direction of the Printing Manager, you will assist the Pressman to keep our high-speed printing operations running smoothly, efficiently, and safely:

Keep Things Moving:

Load skids of paperboard to maintain a continuous, seamless press run.

Troubleshoot & Set Up:

Monitor and adjust feeders to ensure smooth board loading, reading job specifications to prepare the right materials.

Mechanical Assistance:

Adjust mechanical press parts (suction grippers, feed wheels, guides) and assist with press maintenance and roller adjustments using hand tools.

JOB SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for assisting the Pressman on processes regarding make-ready, operations and maintenance of the printing press, in doing so efficiently, safely and accurately.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Job functions include, but are not limited to the following:  Loading skids of board to maintain continuous run of the press  Troubleshoot feeders to ensure board is properly loaded  Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully  Adjusts press machine parts, such as feeder and delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, jogging devices, tapes, and cams, using hand tools.  Assist in removing and replacing worn rollers and adjusting pressure between rollers of press, using hand tools.  Wash blankets and cleans ink and ink distributing rollers and ink fountains, using ink solvent and cleaning mechanism on press.  Assists the pressman in any maintenance of the press.  Performs other duties as required to achieve the overall goals and objectives of the Company.
